Tim Coronel on a visit to Neerlandia

At an entrepreneurial breakfast last November, race car driver Tim Coronel shared his desire to see a fishing company in operation. Even before he finished his presentation, he received an invitation from Jan van Klaveren, business consultant at Neerlandia.

Contact details were exchanged and last Wednesday was the day: Coronel was given a tour of the fish company. After an informal reception, during which coffee and cake were served, the driver even got the chance to fillet the fish himself. “That was done Urkers-style: ‘Here are your gloves, arrange effen on jelui’,” Van Klaveren said. He noted that the staff made Coronel feel immediately welcome, as if he were one of them.

The company visit was followed by a tour of the Old Village, concluded with lunch at De Boet restaurant. Coronel was impressed by the family business and emphasized that he had never seen such a company before. As a souvenir, he received a copy of the book “The Urker fleet of yesteryear” and a fresh piece of salmon.
