Last Thursday afternoon, one of the highlights of the Urk entrepreneurial calendar was on the program: the Seafood Party, organized by the Bedrijvenkring Urk (BKU) in cooperation with Urk Seafood. This time no less than 225 guests enjoyed an atmospheric and tasty afternoon at restaurant De Boet.
The sun showed its best side, and the terrace of De Boet proved, as always, to be the perfect location for meeting, connection and pride. Attendees were pampered culinarily with a sophisticated nine-course fish menu, the fish of which was selflessly provided by Urker companies. A cold home-brewed Bokker beer completed the meal.
Among the guests were not only local entrepreneurs, but also representatives of the U.S. Embassy, the Fish Bureau, RVO (Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland), the Province of Flevoland and the Municipality of Urk. With that, the event grew into more than just a local party, it became a stage for the strength and quality of Urk’s seafood industry.
“The atmosphere was fantastic and the response incredibly positive,” says Grietje Vlot on behalf of the BKU. “We are proud that we were able to make this possible together with our members and partners. Once again we would like to thank all the (supply) sponsors who supported this.”
The BKU looks back with satisfaction and has put the Seafood Party on the agenda again for 2026. With this, the event remains not only a culinary highlight, but also a powerful moment of connection within and outside of Urk.
