At our member DiepVries Urk, the first pile was driven this week for a large-scale construction project on the Zuidoostrak. The family business, active in the food industry since 1928 and now led by the fourth generation Van Veen, is investing in a substantial expansion and modernization of the existing location.
Plans include a new freezer cell with 2,300 pallet spaces, two loading docks, additional shipping space and, above it, new offices and a canteen. In addition, the current freezer cell will be converted into a production hall with additional storage capacity.
Work is taking place in phases so that production can continue as usual. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
Urk Seafood congratulates DiepVries Urk on this milestone and wishes them success with further construction and development.
