Tim Brouwer, CEO of Visscher Seafood, already describes Urk on LinkedIn as the Silicon Island of the Seafood industry. This title is reflected in Visscher Seafood’s latest move. In cooperation with the VCU, they are implementing an advanced, hygienic depalletizer. Among other things, they are deploying a six-axis robot for this purpose.
The VCU shares the following benefits:
- Double efficiency: The Depalletizer can pick up two large packs at the same time.
- Automatic straps cutting: for even more convenience and safety, the robot will automatically cut and shred straps.
- Automatic stacking: the empty boxes and lids are neatly stacked again.
- Capacity: Even if salmon are processed every day, the robot can handle the capacity of the production line.
