URK – After nearly 25 years, Jan and Sjoert Ras symbolically handed over the management of the family business Sea Fresh. The company is now fully owned by the second generation, represented by brothers Albert and Sjoerd Ras, who are the sons of founder Jan Ras.
In 1999, Sea Fresh BV was founded by Jan Ras, soon joined by his brothers Klaas and Sjoert. Together they moved into the current building on the Stortemelk. In 2010, Sea Fresh Retail BV was established, with which the company also began supplying supermarkets. In 2016, Albert and Sjoerd joined the management, and two years later the shares were acquired from Klaas Ras.
With more than two hundred colleagues, Sea Fresh BV and Sea Fresh Retail BV has grown into a thriving business. Jan and Sjoert, as former owners, will still remain active in the family business.
