Next Thursday, a delegation from Urk Seafood will leave for the United States as part of a trade mission to the Pacific Northwest region. In an interview with Omroep Flevoland, Rein Brands of Urk Seafood and alderman Nathanaël Middelkoop explain the purpose of the mission.
The trade mission is aimed at building relationships with local businesses and governments in this region, where trade is already taking place. “There are many opportunities, especially in the area of whitefish, but there are also species similar to our sole and plaice.” said Brands. A machine builder from the food industry will also be part of the mission, highlighting the versatility of the Urk industry.
