Nearly two hundred people gathered Thursday afternoon on the terrace of De Boet restaurant for the annual Seafood Party, organized by BedrijvenKring Urk and supported by Urk Seafood. With the sunny weather, the terrace was the ideal location to catch up while enjoying delicious seafood, drinks and live music by Joop de Zanger.
The fish was provided free of charge by the fishing industry, and Cees Kramer, owner of De Boet, provided a mix of various fish products traded on Urk.
Rein Brands, one of the organizers, looked back on the event with satisfaction: “We look back on the Seafood Party with enormous pride and pleasure. Everyone was wildly enthusiastic, I’ve had many nice reactions. Also nice to see the interest from the province. This year we were at our maximum capacity. For next year we are going to think about how we can make it even bigger.”
The Seafood Party has become an important event in Urk, bringing people together and celebrating the local seafood industry.
