The Municipality of Urk has allocated lot 1.1C of 31,000 mΒ² in Port of Urk to Americold Urk. This offers the company excellent expansion possibilities for the storage of frozen products. Soon the reservation and purchase agreement will be signed and the environmental permit applied for.
General manager Gerrit Brands is enthusiastic: “Urk’s business community needs growth space. It’s great that we can start soon in Port of Urk, which will further strengthen the maritime manufacturing industry.”
Alderman NathanaΓ«l Middelkoop added, “Port of Urk focuses on maritime and fish processing sectors. Americold’s arrival confirms that we are on the right track to grow Urk’s business community.”
